How to use
- In case of package seal damage, re-sterilize the colostrum collector before initial use with steam for 2-3 minutes. Do not use bleach-based agents.
- Open the lid, squeeze the collector tube and point the nib to the nipple for suction of colostrum drops. Do not touch the nipple directly. Alternatively, remove the top part and express milk directly into the cone.
- Close the leakproof lid, attach label sticker with your name and date of expression. Put in the storage case in the fridge or freezer according to storage guidelines.

What are the benefits of collecting colostrum before birth?
Antenatal colostrum collection can help stimulate key lactation hormones, support earlier milk production, improve the milk ejection reflex, and make hand expression easier after birth. It can also boost confidence and help establish a strong milk supply in the early days.
Your fresh colostrum, by directly breastfeeding after birth, is the best way to feed your newborn and to signal your body to make more milk. Still, bringing harvested colostrum to the delivery room is a smart backup - just in case an unexpected need arises during your hospital stay
Who can benefit most from colostrum harvesting?
Colostrum harvesting can be especially helpful for:
- Parents with gestational diabetes (baby may have low blood sugar after birth)
- Planned cesarean births or inductions
- History of low milk supply or breastfeeding challenges
- Expecting a baby with medical needs (e.g. cleft palate, heart condition, or likely NICU stay)
- Twins or more, where early feeding support may be needed
- Parents who want to feel prepared and confident about milk production and early feeding
Even if none of these apply, it can still be a useful tool to support early lactation and peace of mind.
